  2. Party by Oswald Mosley and a number of Labour
  3. members of Parliament 1931, it developed into
  4. the British Union of Fascists 1932. In 1940
  5. the organization was declared illegal and its
  6. leaders interned, but at the end of World War
  7. II it was revived as the Union Movement,
  8. characterized by racist doctrines including
  9. anti-Semitism. An attempt by the
  10. `blackshirts' to march through the East End
  11. of London in 1936 led to prohibition of the
  12. wearing of such political uniforms.
